Student: Sokolov Alexander

Faculty: Faculty of Economic Sciences

Educational Programme: Economics (Bachelor)

Year of Graduation: 2020

The main purpose of this work is to identify the relationship between the news background around global diseases and the dynamics of the movement of securities in the stock market. The negative effect of the news background on both the American and Russian markets was revealed. As part of the research, a Russian financial dictionary was compiled, which allowed for text analysis on the Russian market. In total, about 705,000 news publications were downloaded. The ARMA-GARCH econometric time series model allowed us to estimate the delayed effect of the news background, confirming its presence.
