A Comparative Analysis of the Main Development Trends of Egyptian and Soviet Cinema in 1950-70s.

This study is dedicated to Egyptian cinema in the 50s and 70s of the twentieth century. During this period, national features were added to European features, such as Italian neo-realism, forming a cultural synthesis and a special language for cinema. The research reveals the main points of contact between Egypt and the USSR during the reign of Nasser. Also there is a comparative analysis of Egyptian cinematographic culture on the examples of films “The River of Love” (1961), “The Mummy” (1968) with Soviet picture “Anna Karenina” (1967) and Italian film “Bicycle Thieves” (1948), revealing the ways of displaying national phenomena of Nile Valley.
