Statistical Analysis of Food Availability in Russia

This work is devoted to the study of the level of food security and food availability in Russia and the regions. The relevance of the proposed research is to assess the level of economic availability of food in the regions of Russia based on the latest published data, build various statistical and econometric models that allow you to identify groups of regions by indicators that characterize the level of food security, determine the impact of economic factors on the indicators of food availability, as well as to track the dynamics of deficit consumption of categories of food products. The purpose of this work is to conduct a statistical analysis of food availability in the Russian Federation.The population of Russian regions can be identified as the objects of research. The subject of the research is the indicators of consumption of basic food products in the regions of Russia, indicators of the level of food security and food availability, as well as various socio-economic factors. The work is divided into three chapters. Chapter 1 discusses theoretical approaches to the study of food security issues, as well as analysis of domestic and foreign research. The second Chapter is an analysis of statistics on indicators of food security and food availability in Russia and the world. The third Chapter presents the results of cluster analysis for classifying Russian regions by the level of per capita monthly income, the share of expenditures on food and non-alcoholic beverages consumption, as well as the volume of consumption of the main categories of food products. Also presents the results of the econometric models on panel data to determine the impact of the consumer price index and per capita monthly income of population share of consumption expenditure of food products, as well as time series analysis of this indicator purchasing power per capita incomes for the purchase of scarce food categories.
