School education in Vietnam: current trends and values

After the beginning of Vietnam`s Doi Moi reforms in 1986, aimed at the development of the country, the Vietnamese school education has evolved, consequently, its values have been transformed. There is a straight correlation between the changes in school education and the development of the country. In this research, the modern processes in Vietnamese school education within the context of the transformation of values were analyzed. To achieve this goal, a wide range of primary and secondary sources, including the materials collected by the author during the visit to Vietnam, Vietnamese regulations, statistical data, reports of international organizations, as well as the articles and monographs by Russian and foreign researchers were analyzed. As a result, a comprehensive overview of the value system and recent trends in the sphere of Vietnamese school education was provided and their role in the political and economic development of Vietnam was defined.
