Role of Non-tariff Barriers in Development of Russian Exports of Fertilizers to EU Market

This paper defines the role of non-tariff restrictions in the development of fertilizer exports from Russia to the European Union. European food producers are dependent on fertilizer imports, as domestic production does not meet growing demand. This makes the EU market attractive for the world's largest manufacturers. In turn, the fertilizer sector in the Russian Federation is one of the most promising. In the context of sanctions restrictions in the field of energy resources, this industry has received the opportunity to develop and support from the state. Despite the existing non-tariff restrictions, Russia is the largest supplier of fertilizers to the EU and has the potential to increase it.
