China, Japan and Russia in the 21st century: the modern state, problems and prospects of interstate cooperation

The Asia-Pacific region plays an increasingly important role in the system of international relations. Japan and China are the two central actors of the region in the 21st century, vying for dominance. Russia, which recently has changed its political course towards Asia, is connected with them by partnership ties. Due to their characteristics, these three countries and their relations have a great influence on both, regional and international spheres. This research examines the features of their relationships, identifies problems and perspectives by using means of comparative analysis and basic theses of Oriental studies and Political science. Bilateral relations within the triangle are also analyzed in accordance with the main factors from various theories of international relations. The author of the work concludes that relations between China, Russia and Japan have certain threats and prospects, but declining of confrontation and increasing of comprehensive cooperation will be beneficial to all three parties.
