The idea of ​​public service as a social institution is based on a system of defined professional values, and it is different from the idea of ​​the private sector, both because of the tasks that it performs and because of the behavior that is expected from civil servants. The idea of ​​public service is based on the concept of service for the benefit of society, the principles of humanism and social orientation. The importance of the role of values ​​and motives in the structure of the personality of civil servants is determined by the fact that government officials directly influence the process of public administration. Values ​​form the motives of the activities and behavior of civil servants, which set the value foundation and development profile of the whole country. The purpose of this work is to identify the main features of the value-motivational sphere of the personality of modern public servants, their motives for working in government structures, the study of the relationship of values ​​and motives. This study is also mainly aimed at analyzing the severity of the public service motive and altruistic values ​​among public servants as specific characteristics of public service.
