This research analyzes the visual image of an amateur runner. The paper considers the main characteristics of the sports community as an example of modern neo-tribes, its structure, and its functions. Despite the mandatory competitive element of the sports movement, this type of community lacks competition and the spirit of competition between its participants. On the contrary, solidarity occurs through affectivity, emotional connection, and shared experience of similar emotions and feelings. Through visual self-representation, amateur runners express and certify their integration into this type of community, document their ascetic lifestyle in preparation for competitions, using certain attributes and patterns accepted within the group.
