Mediation as a Method of Resolving Sports Disputes

In this work, an attempt is made to consider the application of the mediation procedure for resolving sports disputes as one of the most rational ways of resolving conflicts. For the purposes of this work, the concept of mediation is analyzed starting from the abstract level - the definition of conflict and dispute. The procedure of mediation in sport is revealed through its principles: voluntariness, confidentiality, impartiality. It seems important to identify the advantages of the mediation procedure, which are especially beneficial in resolving disputes in the field of sports. The foreign experience of the use of mediation in the field of sports is considered. The well-known cases of successful and not quite successful application of mediation are studied. In addition, the scientific literature of foreign authors has been studied, which explores the use of mediation as a way to resolve sports disputes, features, problems, prospects. Various opinions on the problems and prospects of the use of mediation in the field of sports both in Russia and abroad were collected and revised. Possible ways of solving problems in the application of mediation are examined, the prospects for the application of the mediation procedure in the future are studied.
