Recep Tayyip Erdogan's Political Influence in the Republic of Turkey: Quantitative Analysis

The study continues to identify the main factors that can explain the political influence of Recep Tayyip Erdogan in the Republic of Turkey during 2011-2018. The use of a theoretical layer of literature made it possible to highlight potential indicators that may be present in determining political influence in the case of Turkey. However, unlike many works on similar topics, the study uses the method of regression analysis to develop an objective statistical assessment of the significance of certain factors. Based on the results of the work, two main patterns of the relationship between influence and various factors were established: the first one is associated with a decrease in political influence due to a deterioration in the standard of living of the society, the second one – with an increase in the level of influence due to the presence of a threat (in particular, external).
