Evaluation of Efficiency of Digitization in the Oil and Gas Industry (Gazprom Neft Case)

The implementation of digital technologies tends to spread all over the world. Digitization of certain areas of society, as well as industries, provides a number of advantages, such as increasing the competitiveness of enterprises in the domestic and foreign markets, improving the welfare of citizens, raising the literacy of the population. The relevance of the bachelor thesis on the topic “Evaluation of Efficiency of Digitization in the Oil and Gas Industry (Gazprom Neft Case)” is due to the global trend towards industrial automatization along with the importance of the oil and gas sector in the Russian economy and its active participation in the development and use of innovative solutions. The aim of this work is to study the effects of digitization on the functioning of enterprises operating in the oil and gas industry, as well as ways to assess the effectiveness of digital solutions. To achieve this goal, the following tasks have been set: 1. To analyze the literature on digitization of entrepreneurship 2. To study information on PJSC Gazprom Neft, its structure, main activities, along with the key digital projects of the company and its subsidiaries 3. For the period of 2011-2018 conduct a financial analysis of the main indicators of the company’s departments, in which the largest digital projects are implemented 4. To track the dynamics of financial indicators before and after the introduction of digital solutions 5. To evaluate the efficiency of digitization indicators and their dynamics, as well as to compare these indicators with industry average values 6. To identify the strengths/weaknesses of digital technology adoption and make conclusions This study analyzes the financial stability and solvency of two Gazprom Neft subsidiaries and evaluates the financial indicators characterizing the efficiency of implementing digital projects in this company. It has been revealed that digitization, along with other projects of the company, has a positive impact on the company’s efficiency and contributes to its growth in adverse market conditions.
