After the collapse of the Soviet Union, Russian small towns and villages are gradually beginning to transform relations between residents in the social and economic spheres. Thus, one of the major social processes that influenced the formation of the modern appearance of the Russian village was the "suburbanization" in the 90s - the resettlement of urban residents in the suburbs. This diploma research, at the intersection of anthropology and sociology, focuses on new forms of relationships that now are being built between people in a small closed community, such as an urban type of the settlement. The aim of the research is through the interview and participant observation to understand how the relationship between different groups in the village through different cultural and social practiсes is being built and developed, which factors influence these processes. To achieve this research goal, I decided to choose a theoretical framework related to the study of neighborhood relations, using opposite categories as «strangers», «we» in order to interpret the material. During the research I interviewed residents of different groups, who were from different economic and social backgrounds, but now living permanently in the same village. However, there is also a diverse in terms of buildings. That is why he main criterion I used to select my informants was their area of residence. The preliminary results confirm the hypothesis that despite the fact that in the Russian context there is no economic and social segregation, the residents of the settlement prefer to establish the social connections and consider as their own those who have similar social status in the society, and cultural backgrounds
