YouTube Interview in Contemporary Russian Culture

In recent years, the phenomenon of interview shows has become very popular in the Russian media space. An interview show is an entertainment program based on such speech and journalism genre as interview. Interview show is a kind of talk show. The genre of talk shows was established on western television in the 1990s and is now an integral part of television broadcasting in all countries of the world. The format of the interview show has long been presented on domestic television and it cannot be said that it has ever been neglected. However, the upsurge in popularity of Russian-language interview shows in recent years is related not to television but to the Internet environment. Specifically - with the platform Youtube, which is currently the most popular video hosting in the world (since 2006 belongs to Google). The Youtube-based interview show is what we call a Youtube interview. This work is dedicated to the reflection on the role and place of Youtube interview in contemporary Russian culture, to the consideration of the format of Youtube interview in comparison with its television analogue and autonomously.
