The Practice of Overcoming Internet Addiction on the Example of Digital Detox in the Youth Environment

In this study, the author set the task to consider the features of the digital detox practice among youth as one of the practices for overcoming Internet addiction. To achieve this goal, an empirical study of the digital detox practice among youth was carried out using the semi-structured interview method. This paper emphasizes the identification of motives that encourage young people to resort to the practice of digital detox, as well as the recognition of individual strategies and features of the phenomenon under consideration. The paper may lie in the basis of a study on digital detox phenomenon itself, namely, the developing trend of the digital detox practice, which ultimately forms a new culture of information consumption in general.
