The issue of fast and convenient passenger traffic is always on the agenda in contemporary urban life. Public transport has become a part of everyday life in large cities and familiarization with historical sources to prepare this study led to the conclusion that transport challenges a century ago and today are similar. It is aware that the history of mobility today is growing rapidly nowadays. In addition, the field of technological history is also relevant today. Despite this, the history of public transport in the Russian Empire remains unexplored.
