This diploma thesis is devoted to the study of the Rhodesian colonial narrative formation of the late 19th century. This thesis focuses on the colonists taking part in the conquest and colonization of present-day Zimbabwe's territory. These travelers and colonists left their memories of these events on the pages of their travelogue notes, which were used as sources in this work. The purpose of this diploma thesis is to identify the features of the colonial narrative formation. This work discovers main traits of the emerging self-identity of the colonists of Rhodesia and studies how colonists described colonization.
