A Hunting in the USSR in the 1930s: Environmental and Literary Aspects

The work research the impact of hunting on the environment and literary activity in the USSR in the 1930s, when modernization took place in the country and natural resources were exploited for the needs of industrialization. Hunting changed the natural environment, but also helped to make people aware of this (for example, through literature). Thus, the hunting illuminates the ecological and literary history of the early USSR. In this work i use archival documents of the State Committee on Reserves under the Presidium of the All-Russian Central Executive Committee, diaries and materials of the writer-hunter M.M. Prishvin, specialized hunting magazines and articles from Soviet central newspapers.
