Algorithms for the SET-COVER Problem

The work is devoted to the study of approximate algorithms for solving the weighted problem on the minimum coverage of a set. The greedy algorithm and the Bar-Yehuda-Even algorithm based on the Primal-Dual approach for solving discrete optimization problems are considered. It is shown how the use of approximate algorithms can improve the solution of the problem obtained using other approaches
