Faculty: HSE Tikhonov Moscow Institute of Electronics and Mathematics (MIEM HSE)

Educational Programme: Information Science and Computation Technology (Bachelor)

Final Grade: 10

Year of Graduation: 2020

With the rapid development of science and technology, production of the on-chip integrated-optical spectrometer plays an important role with respect to the investigation of the element composition. As the necessity of having precise data has grown, there has been a corresponding proliferation of research on this issue. The general purpose is to explore and display an engineered prototype of the on-chip raman optical spectrometer using detector. In this research a finite difference beam propagation method was used, as well as an iterative method and mode solving methods. Thereby, the approach is based on constructing a demultiplexer, creating waveguides and optimizing layout. The results show that the proposed system is able to determine the chemical composition of an element, thus it will be useful for astronautics, medicine, geology, mineralogy etc.
