The graduation paper deals with the problem of the connection between the use of knittelvers by Feodor Tyutchev in his poetry texts and his acquaintance with the German poetry tradition and his experience of translations of German poets. In the research field Tyutchev was thoroughly established not just as a pioneer of the development of knittelvers forms in Russian poetry, but also as a poet whose works had grown on the tradition of German poetry. This study pays special attention to the question how acquaintance with the traditions of German poetry had influenced on the appearance of the knittelvers in Tyutchev's poems. The texts of poets with knittelversforms were selected and the main peculiarities of the use of this meter were highlighted in the work. On the basis of these results the attempt was made to characterize the relationship between the Tutchev knittelvers and the knittellvers of German poetry texts.
