Using of Interval Data Envelopment Analysis for Efficiency Estimation of Russian Universities

Nowadays university productivity is at the top of the agenda of most countries including Russia in higher education. Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) is one of the most widespread techniques for efficiency estimation of socio-economic objects. However, DEA is suitable only for precise data. We consider DEA modifications suggested at HSE taking into account interval nature of data and employ these ones for efficiency estimation of Russian universities over 2014-2018 years. The result of evaluation is analyzed using Malmquist index. It is found out that leading universities are efficient as well as large regional universities. Finally, there is no change in efficiency of universities over the period.
