Student: Kuchin Pavel

Supervisor: Larisa Manita

Faculty: HSE Tikhonov Moscow Institute of Electronics and Mathematics (MIEM HSE)

Educational Programme: Applied Mathematics (Bachelor)

Year of Graduation: 2020

The purpose of this paper is to build a mathematical model of an online store in order to optimize the overall online shopping experience. Queueing analysis and queuing networks theory will be investigated and applied in order to improve customer experience whilst maximizing profits. Optimization will be based on two key parameters: waiting time and resulting average income. These two key parameters are chosen as key performance measurements. In order to confirm analytical results computer simulation will be used. The analytical results and the results of computer simulation will be compared.
