Psychogenic Aspects of Female Sterility

This master’s thesis represents the results of studying psychogenic aspects pf female sterility. Psychogenic sterility or sterility with unclear genesis is stated in case, when viable pregnancy doesn’t come after a year of unprotected coituses without objective medical causes. The problem of this research lies in difficulty in selecting correct approach in psychological help for women with psychogenic sterility. The goals of this research consist of studying special aspects of female infertility experience and understanding psychological causes of female sterility. In-depth semi-structured interviews were conducted to achievе the goals. Female psychogenic infertility emotional experience was described by using phenomenological method. Possible causes of female infertility were also distinguished. Capabilities of application of the research results in psychological help for women with psychogenic sterility were formulated. This research has limitations in connection with using phenomenological method as analysis of received empirical data.
