In this work we consider the characteristics of a sibling relationship, where one has special needs. There are many independent variables that ultimately have a big impact on research results. Age, gender, degree of persistent impairment of body functions, family size and income, relationships between parents and their adaptation, cultural and religious context - all this affects the research results and complicates the research process. The relevance of the work lies in the fact that sibling relationships often drop out of field view of researchers. Currently, there are no works in this field in domestic scientific work. We conducted an empirical study of the severity of the level of empathy and tolerance in siblings with a brother or sister with special needs.
