Statistical Analysis of Purchasing Power of Russian Pensions

Pension policy is a prime marker of effective reallocation of resources in any economy. The welfare of older generations today and younger generations in the foreseeable future mostly depends on the success of long-term pension system development strategies. This work aims to contribute to the analysis of the purchasing power and the medium value of the Russian pensions. In the first chapter, common types of pension systems, as well as indexation schemes will be analyzed. Furthermore, there will be an estimation of adequacy of pension benefits and socio-economic analysis of pensioners. In the second chapter, with the use of spatial econometrics, various factors and effects are estimated. Regression and time series analysis applied.
