In the criminal procedure law of the Russian Federation, the institution of jury trial exists, however, in practice it is not popular. This paper reveals all the problems of this issue, and also analyzes in detail the moment of the verdict by jurors. The verdict is the final word of the jury in the case, it is who announces the judgment. Based on the law enforcement practice in Russia, it becomes clear that jurors are much more likely to issue an acquittal. Does this mean that a jury trial is much more profitable for the defendant than the usual one? This study answers this question, and also considers the problematic points of reaching a verdict by jurors.
