To remain competitive today, companies need to update technologies, improve equipment, which requires spending money on financial investments. The organization does not always have its own funds to update resources, and therefore the firms have a need for leasing. But not only lessees need financing, leasing companies often resort to various types of support in order to expand and increase their activities. There are traditional and modern methods through which the financing of the leasing sector takes place. Due to the high competition, access to traditional instruments becomes unavailable for many companies, and therefore modern methods of financing are gaining popularity - the issue of securities and securitization. The purpose of this work is to determine the factors affecting the profitability of leasing companies. The idea is to study the determinants that influence the profitability of securities among the companies listed on the NASDAQ exchange and the factors that influence the profitability among the Russian leasing companies. The research methodology consists in conducting regression analysis based on data for both NASDAQ-listed companies and Russian companies. The first sample is analyzed by building regressions on panel data - models with fixed and random effects are built, which are compared with each other and between the pooled regression model. For Russian companies, a linear regression is built, in which some regressors have a special specification, and a logit regression is also built.
