Economic and Statistical Analysis of Russian Insurance Market

Insurance is an important sector of the national economy of any state. Like any other type of economic relationship, insurance originated as a commercial activity with the aim of making a profit. This paper applies an approach to find a new model with better forecasting power and studies the Russian insurance market for the presence of convergence between regions. To serve this purpose, a panel dataset of insurance premiums and payments respectively collected and paid in regions is proposed for research to be investigated by traditional statistical techniques: time series analysis and panel regression.
