The topic of research is "Analysis of the growth of the incidence of type two diabetes in Russia". The work is relevant as the prevalence of diabetes is increasing worldwide, especially in low- and middle-income countries. The aim of the study is to analyze the relationship between the increase in the incidence of type 2 diabetes in Russia and the increase in the consumption of cheap products, as well as a drop in the income of population. For the empirical part I used data on the incidence of diabetes mellitus by regions of the Russian Federation, data on income of the population by region, and data on food consumption. I examine the risk factors for type 2 diabetes, collect and clean the necessary data, and perform statistical analysis of the data. The result of the study is the revealed dependence of the increase in the incidence of type two diabetes on the growth in the production and consumption of cheap products, as well as on the decrease in the population's income. This once again confirms the importance of government participation in the diabetes mellitus control.
