The academic paper addresses the question of post-truth as a concept used as a tool shaping the preferences of the information tv channels audience in the USA. It is worthwhile to dramatically narrow the problem on the grounds that previous works have been subjected to scrutiny from the political perspective. To conduct a research, the hybrid method including «framing analysis» of two American TV channels news programs – The Fox News and MSNBC – and the US public opinion surveys comparative analysis have been applied. The Fox News and MSNBC Cases were deliberately chosen to highlight the discrepancy between audience interests and the increase of political polarization backed by the media. The academic paper results may encourage scholars and media professionals to seek a unified approach to prevent fake news and post-truth spreading and biased media consumption. Keywords: post-truth, TV audience preferences, fake news
