This study is devoted to the analysis of the changing world order and the role of Russia in it. In the course of the work, the decline of America relative to other states was assessed from a military, economic and political perspective, as well as the significance of the decline in the U.S. influence for the changing world order. Furthermore, fundamental changes in the international system, such as regionalization, increased influence of liberal states and traditional policy instruments, were analyzed. One of the focal points was the global coronavirus pandemic, which significantly strengthened the pre-existing trends and finally undermined the unconditional dominance of the United States. In chapter 3, Russia's approach to relations with the West and the logic of formulating Russia's foreign policy were described, as well as its attempts to build a stable sphere of influence in the post-Soviet space. The last section was devoted to the analysis of Russia in different configurations of power: multipolarity, bipolarity and unipolarity. The main conclusion is that the world is moving in the direction of bipolarity, where the United States and China play the leading role, while Russia can act as a mediator or middle power.
