Year of Graduation: 2021

At present, the East Asia region remains significant for the US foreign policy; especially it is important to preserve the possibilities of influencing the political and geopolitical processes in the region. Inter-Korean relations have historically been one of the areas of US influence in this region, and in the context of the strengthening of China, American influence on the Korean Peninsula seems to be important for maintaining the international position of the US. The relevance of this scientific work lies in the need to analyze the role of US policy in the evolution of inter-Korean dialogue, since until now relations between the two Korean states continue to be characterized by uncertainty and have not reached the final point of their development, which allows external actors to influence the course of their formation. However, nowadays few scientific papers have been devoted to the study of the role of the United States in inter-Korean relations. The aim of this research is to compencate this lack.
