Due to the continuing popularity of the horror genre in the modern world, filmmakers are increasingly turning to the genre features of films of the past, using cliches as a tool to create a "new horror". To create a full-fledged experience of immersion in the aesthetics of a certain subgenre, it is not enough to rely only on their inherent audio-visual solutions, it is important to have an idea of the artistic value and structure of the narrative. The aim of the following project is to create an auteur script based on the knowledge of the giallo genre and incorporating its main structural elements, derived in the analytical model in the course of the research done. However, the creation of a modern giallo requires not only theoretical knowledge and observation, but also the modification of some genre cliches in favor of a modern reading and by the target audience. Keywords: giallo, genre features, auteur script, horror, aesthetic concepts, narrative.
