Over the years, globalization has significantly evolved and in the 21st century this process will not stop. With the spread of globalization migration processes have become faster and easier, thus, the number of migrants is constantly growing. Since immigration has a significant impact on the host country’s economy and society, the American government has faced the fundamental issue: how can the country not only ‘nurture’ the experts but also create conditions, so that more well-established professionals and aspiring individuals will successfully immigrate. This study aims at examining the main causes of legal immigration from different regions to the USA, the main source countries of migrants, and eventually the socio-economic impact of this process on the United States.
