The ban on the use of public spaces during the pandemic forces the media to take over the functions of the contact zone. At a time when nightlife is effectively banned, urban-themed media have to create new formats to retain an audience. This research is aimed at studying the new conditions in which not only urban public space but also urban media, find themselves today. Based on the studied theoretical literature and a three-phase analysis of two thematic media platforms ("MYIDEM" and "Kabinet Kayfologa"), the author formulated a system of recommendations for urban media in the situation of such crises. In the practical part of the study, a content analysis of the media texts of the above-mentioned media outlets, semi-structured interviews with their editors, and a non-large-scale survey of readers was conducted.
