Video games have changed a lot over the past 20 years. New genres, platforms and consoles have emerged. The requirements for the plot, design and strategy have changed. Modern games are the complex and deep product. The main difference between modern and first games is the plot. The narrative makes video games what they are today: drama, character story, core issue and social issue. For a long time, video games were not considered an art form. As a consequence, they were excluded from the narrative canon. The changes took place in 2001 when the so-called game studies were formed together with the magazine of the same name. The narrative became the stumbling block. The researchers were divided into two groups: ludologists and narratologists. The former considers games without text and narrative, while the latter is the opposite. Over time, ludologists have changed their position because the plot is becoming an essential part of the industry.
