Digitalization as a Company's Competitive Advantage in the World Airline Market (by the Example of Lufthansa)

The intensification of globalization processes led to the emergence of an information society. As a result, digitalization, which has embraced all spheres of life, has become a fundamental aspect of social, scientific and economic progress. Thus, companies in fast-paced and highly competitive airline sector implement innovations to improve their performance. The present study aims to analyze the changes in the competitiveness of Lufthansa Group during the period of active digital transformation (2012-2020). The research investigates in more details global development trends and digital solutions’ implementation in the field of air transportation. In this paper a qualitative and statistical analysis of Lufthansa Group were conducted in order to assess effectiveness of innovations implemented in the company's business processes.
