The Master thesis is devoted to the study of impact of sanctions 2014-2020 on performance results and foreign trade decisions of international oil and gas companies on the foreign markets. The methodological and theoretical basis of the research includes general methodological principles of scientific research, a set of methods of economic analysis (historical, statistical, functional, systemic), methods of data classification. Chapter 1 contains factual references to the emergence and historical development of sanctions. Author's attention is also focused on clarifying the variety of sanctions, on their historical appearance and development. In addition, the chapter reveals sanctions’ historical application. Chapter 2 displays the dynamics of the economy’s oil sector after the imposition of sanctions and highlights the foreign trade decisions of oil and gas companies along with sanctions’ impact on country's economy. Chapter 3 identifies the short-term and long-term impact of the 2014-2019 sanctions imposed by the EU and the United States on performance results and foreign trade decisions of international oil and gas companies on the foreign markets and provides for the practical significance of the findings. Thus, the object of the research is the foreign economic activity of enterprises of the oil and gas industry in Russia under the influence of sanctions. The subject of the research is to assess the impact of economic sanctions 2014-2020 on the foreign economic activity of enterprises in the oil and gas industry in Russia.
