This study aims to measure the impact of the political regime on the success of the fight against coronavirus in Central Asia. The study takes a close look at the literature on health systems in authoritarian states and autocracies in Central Asia. Then, the study tests the hypotheses of previous researchers regarding the specifics of the structure of health systems in authoritarian countries using the example of the countries of Central Asia. Using the comparative case study method, conclusions will be formulated regarding the effectiveness of a particular regime in the fight against coronavirus in Central Asia. The relationship between the effectiveness of the fight against coronavirus and the focus of elites on receiving rent from extractive enterprises is being tested. An indicator of clan-tribal monopolization is introduced to study the impact of elite monopolization on the fight against coronavirus. The impact of the competitiveness of past elections on the fight against coronavirus is being studied. As a result of the analysis, the main factors influencing the effectiveness of the struggle of the authoritarian regimes of Central Asia with the coronavirus are provided.
