Today, global value chains (GVCs) represent a new way of international trade and organization of international production. Agricultural GVCs deserve special attention; in recent years, Russia has taken a leading position in the export of certain types of agricultural products. Under the influence of digitalization processes, the transformation of agricultural GVCs is taking place, new technologies are being introduced for the automation and robotization of production operations. The purpose of the study is to determine the impact of foreign value added on the development of agricultural exports in Russia. According to the results of the study, it was possible to confirm two hypotheses: despite Russia's specialization in the export of agricultural products, Russia continues to use the model of participation in the GVC of developing countries; Russia does not integrate into GVCs at high-tech stages due to its dependence on imported technologies.
