Videogame «MЕLT»

This research examines theoretical concepts of game studies in order to research the influence of video games on players. In Introduction, the educational potential of video games and advantages of interactivity is discussed. Proceeding, in Literature Review the author gives a general picture of fundamental theories of games’ persuasion: procedural rhetoric by Bogost, real rules and fiction worlds by Juul, ethical dilemmas by Sicart and Schrier, and experiential gestalts by Rusch. This new perspective on video games’ influential potential provides an analytical tool for creating a video game, implementing the environmental problems, “MELT” as well as a space for future research using a formal text analysis method.
