Modeling Consumer Behavior in the Cellular Market

Nowadays, more and more people are involved in using phones and other electronic devices in ordinary life. Consumers always have a chance to change the tariff plan they use in present due to some reasons. The cellular market is characterized by high competition. A large number of mobile operators offer a wide range of tariff plans, actively fighting to retain customers and attract new ones. The main purpose of our research is to identify the factors that affect the probability of a consumer changing the tariff plan. Our data contains the information about the consumer and his/her characteristics of the mobile operator Rostelecom from 2011 to 2012. We will build a logit-model, a logit-model with fixed effects and a mixed logit-model. We will also focus on the study of such a factor as geographical mobility, using data on the coordinates of base stations.
