In this study, euthanasia is considered as a legitimate way to recognize the existence of the right to die. Of scientific interest here is the consideration of the issue of legalizing euthanasia from a political point of view as a «competition» among different actors / advocacy coalitions. This study aims to identify the most influential factors/processes in this issue. The author formulates a number of hypotheses concerning the significance of individual processes in the context of the recognition of the right to die. To determine the most influential actors in this issue, an analysis of the relevant literature and media in countries that have successfully legalized euthanasia is carried out. The empirical material is based on a number of interviews with various experts from the fields covered by this issue. The uniqueness of the work lies in the atypical consideration of the problem through the concept of Advocacy Coalition Framework (ACF) and the use of a number of other theories. Research on this topic is usually considered from a social or philosophical point of view, losing sight of the importance of political institutions in it. On the basis of the obtained results, conclusions and further prospects of the study are formed.
