Features of Legal Regulation of the International Trusts

The study is devoted to the legal regulation of international trusts as tools for mediating a wide range of economic relations widespread in world practice. The purpose of this work is to analyze the institution of trust from the point of view of private international law and to identify the features of its legal regulation. To achieve this goal, the following tasks were solved: a brief history of the emergence and development of the institution of trust was considered; revealed the characteristic features of the institution of trust and formulated its definition; considered the legal status of the institution of trust in legal systems of the civil law and analyzed its relationship with functionally similar institutions of civil law; assessed the role of the 1985 Hague Convention on the Law Applicable to Trusts and Their Recognition in the Legal Regulation of International Trusts; considered the current legal regulation of international trusts in the Russian Federation and the prospects for its further development.
