The paper presents a study of the life level across Russian regions and a comparison of the living standard in Russia and abroad based on calculating HDI and Gini indices. This study is relevant because one of the main concerns of governments is how to ameliorate the people’s life quality in their countries, as this will encourage the development of the countries' economies. The research methods consist of building a regression in EViews exploiting data from Federal State Statistics Service (n.d.) and graphical method. The Russian value of the HDI index is awaited to be lower than abroad based on other authors' results discovered in literature review. It is recommended to continue research primarily in the field of indicators having the greatest impact on the life level that were identified in this study.
