The Use of Information Technology in the Independent Study of English by Students

At present information technologies in the context of education have gained unprecedented significance. The current situation has provided a great space for pedagogical creativity on the web, necessitating a search for new ways of teaching and learning. YouTube hosting is one of the powerful media tools that can facilitate and optimize the learning process. Thus, the aim of the current study is to analyze YouTube English teaching content, estimate its effectiveness, and consequently develop methodological guidelines. In the study a number of scientific methods are employed: a critical review of data from academic resources, content analysis, systematization, generalization, classification, survey, questionnaire. This paper provides a comprehensive insight into how utilizing YouTube in ESL learning contributes to the efficacy and productivity of the educational process.
