Modern mass media has become a powerful tool which is widely used to form a particular perception of reality among society members. Internet resources, TV channels and printed mass media interpret not only the events but also form a particular image of politicians and celebrities. This study is focused on the language image of the British royal family in modern media. The research findings indicate which impact on the image of the reality modern media have. It is also possible that the tone of voice and words connotation (positive or negative) in the articles devoted to the British royal family depends on the current events on the political arena. Further, the research reflects how the usage of particular words and word constructions influence society’s perception and the community’s mood and indicates the linguacultural justifications for the image of the Family Firm. Using diverse methods of linguistic analysis and discourse analysis, general tendencies in the British royal family description and description of the actions of the royal family members will be established. Furthermore, during this research, all the methods mentioned above will be applied to confirm or refute the hypothesis about the possible modelling function of mass media.
