Telecommunications network operators are constantly faced with the challenge of providing new services that require ubiquitous broadband access. In trying to do so, they face many problems, such as network coverage or ensuring the guaranteed quality of service Network planning is a multi-criteria optimization problem that involves clustering the area of interest by minimizing the cost function, which includes relevant parameters such as installation cost, the distance between the user and the base station, supported traffic, and received signal quality. This paper consists of two parts: theoretical and practical. The theoretical part consists of three chapters and the practical part consists of one chapter. The first chapter deals with the decision support system in a telecommunications company for planning the construction of a data transmission network. The second chapter examines methods for planning telecommunication networks. The third chapter describes and proposes a new method for monitoring the quality of services provided in the telecommunications network by analyzing PPPoE packet statistics. The fourth (practical) part of the paper analyzes statistical data on customer churn from the telecommunications company. Methods for more effective construction of forecasts of possible customer churn were presented. Early identification of customers who are likely to leave the company can help build a cost-effective path in further marketing strategies.
