Student: Aniutina Anna

Supervisor: Pavel Uspensky

Faculty: Faculty of Humanities

Educational Programme: Philology (Bachelor)

Year of Graduation: 2021

The graduation work is devoted to the processes of canonization and popularization of the figure of Boris Ryzhy in critical discourse and popular culture. The subject of its consideration is the trends of criticism of the 2000s-2010s, which formed the literary reputation of Ryzhy in groups of professional readers. The second part of the paper is devoted to the analysis of the mass reception of the poet in the media space. Various broadcast channels are analyzed: from the most elite (theater) to the least elite (TikTok). Based on the theory of the literary field of P. Bourdieu, the study will propose a solution to the problem of whether Ryzhy belongs to one of the segments of this field. Drawing on the methods of the anthropology of admiration of N. Heinich, the work will demonstrate the analysis of the practices of praising the poet and the description of the process of his entry into mass culture.
