Instagram is a social media platform that nowadays seems to be the most visual one. Moreover the practice of collaboration and posting on Instagram happen to influence cities, perceptions of space, appearance, design, and even people's social interactions, which is unavoidable given the widespread use of social media. However, the question about the influence has on urban spaces remains open. Scholars point to the debate on one-way or mutual effects of Instagramization. They also question the variables that influence urban consumption. A current study investigates the effect of digital patterns in Instagram on users' experiences in the physical world. It is done by performing a geoanalysis of the most attractive locations in terms of the frequency of Instagram posts with a specific geotag, defining spatial flows within Moscow districts, and validating the findings through surveys of area residents.
